Weight Loss

Weight-Loss Diary – 2/20/2020

Alright, let us have yet another conversation about how my weight loss is going. I went to Florida a couple of weeks ago. Man, oh MAN are my parents active. We walked about 7 miles a day while I was there and when I got home, I weighed myself- expecting it to have gone UP like after most vacations – and actually found that my weight had gone down.

Now, we’re not talking anything extravagant. It went down 3 lbs. That said, since I’ve been home and navigated through Valentine’s Day alone, I’m pretty sure I’ve managed to put that back on and then some. To be honest, I came home from Florida, where it was 70-85 degrees the entire time, to Ohio where it was snowing and COLD. I basically took a week off from lifting and then when I got home and was adapting back to the cold, I took another week off from lifting. You can’t do that man! I mean, if you DO do that, you’ve got to start back up slow. I went to the gym on Saturday just planning on getting to business. Starting where I left off. Working my ACE off so I could make up for lost time. Well guess what? I could barely even walk for 3 days (I did a leg day). THEN, my friend and I were working out and we did – you guessed it – legs again (a lot of hamstrings and glutes)! Now <get ready for a nerdy reference> I’m walking like when Harry Potter took the polyjuice so he could get into the Ministry of Magic and the guy he was changed in to walked leaning forward on his toes the whole time. Yeah, like that. That is how I’m walking.

Yesterday I had a stressful moment. I’m not going to go into detail, but just know that I was STRUGGLING at the end of the day. I got home. I happened to have 4 chocolate (made with pumpkin puree) with cream cheese icing cupcakes left over from Valentine’s Day and I kid you not, I ate 3 of them right then and there. You know what? I ate the last one before bed because honestly, I just didn’t want to have it in my house any more. Should I have thrown it away? Sure. Was it moldy? No. Who throws away perfectly good chocolate? Not me, that’s for sure.

Today I had pizza for lunch. I’m not having a great “diet” kind of week. I had Wendy’s once this week and it threw everything out of wack. If I’m recovering from lifting, and I’m not going to the gym in the evening, I just really can’t account for something like that. Hopefully once summer comes I will be able to go back to eating mostly vegetables like I did last summer. Either way, I did NOT feel good after eating Wendy’s.

Tomorrow is a new day right? I’ll start with dinner and just make tomorrow a better day. I can do it!
